A Get Place to Find Inexpensive Beauty Products

When I first started wearing makeup I only shopped at the obvious places such as MAC, Sephora, ULTA, Clinique and so forth. I never thought about shopping other places as I was so comfortable with having associates help me. It took me years to even consider drugstore products because I was afraid I wouldn’t know what to purchase or which colors would look good on me. After purchasing a few NYX products at ULTA and falling in love with them, I soon noticed my location beauty supply store sold the brand at a cheaper price. This lead me to look through the other products at my beauty supply store and I found some really good products. The beauty supply store for me is a cheap girls heaven with really well known products that aren’t sold at counters or even some drugstores. I found NYX, Sinful Colors, Ruby Kisses, Kiss, LA Colors and several other brands at my local store in Woodbridge Virginia. I often visit such store for makeup and never look at the hair products. You can find great inexpensive lashes, makeup brushes and other tools. If you’re in the Woodbridge VA area, I would suggest checking out Beauty $ U and KC Beauty, so far they have the biggest selection I’ve seen in the area. I would also suggest you look at your product before purchasing, people often swatch or test products that aren’t sealed. I hope this quick post can help some of you looking for cheaper alternatives or brands that aren’t sold in mainstream places.

Happy Shopping,

Jae

Review::E.L.F Gotta Glow Blush

On the E.L.F website this product is classified as a blush, but that’s obviously not for someone my complexion. I bought this product to use as a highlighter for various places on my face.

When I first opened the packaging I was a bit surprised to find a product that looked like an off white powder that left me wondering how the heck it was going to highlight my skin. I decided to try the product before giving up and I was happy I did so. When swatched I found a nice glowy champagne sheen on my hand and immediately knew this was the product for me. I immediately grabbed a face brush and went to work on my check bones and liked the glow it instantly brought to my face, it was subtle yet effective. I’ve also tried it as a brow bone highlight with the same results.

The product itself is very powdery and should be used with caution. I made a mess the first time I used it with a brush and found that it lost a lot of product because I didn’t realize it was so fine. I now dip the tip of my brush into the product and build it up as needed.

The packaging is very sturdy for a $3 product and reminds me a lot of the NARS blush packaging. I like the simple look and the peek-a-boo area on the front allows you to easily see the product. The back is even more simple with a small sticker containing the name of the product.

Overall, this is a really good product that anyone could benefit from, especially with such a small price tag. This would be a perfect product to use for prom, wedding or even everyday. I haven’t seen this in Target stores yet, but I know its available on the website.

Make sure to leave a message if you have this product letting me know how you use it and how you like it.

What’s Jae Listening to?

I've really been into some of the newly released songs and thought it was time to share with you. Make sure to let me know some of your favorites as well.

Melanie Fiona - Gone and Never Coming Back

This song is HOTT…its so soulful and really show’s her artistic side. You sang it girl and keep the hits coming!

Kelly Rowland – Motivation

“So baby I’mma be your motivation, Go, go, go, go, motivation” I LOVE, LOVE this song, its such a nice weather banger and I’m happy Kelly seems to be back in her grove.

Miguel - Sure Thing

This is my JAMMM, this guy is on fire right now. This song brings something so fresh and new to the music game right now. I favorite lyrics are: “love you like a brother, treat you like a friend, respect you like a love”

Chris Brown - She Ain't You

This song brings me back to my SWV days with the sample of Right Here.

I’ll definitely we back with another post soon, since I’m feeling some of the music being put out this season. Let me know what you’re listening to!

Happy Reading/Listening

Review::E.L.F Stippling Brush

I picked up a stippling brush during one of the recent E.L.F sales and have been using it long enough to deliver my review. I was so excited when I came across the coupon and saw the price of their stippling brush that I had to pick one up! I have a couple of “skunk” brushes none that work well for foundation application and I was really looking forward to using this brush for liquid foundation.

I tore into the package and washed my new brushes as quickly as possible so that I could get down to the fun parts…playing around with them. I first tried the stippling brush with my MAC Mineralize Satinfinish Foundation and felt that it was hard to “stipple” because the brush was not dense enough. I then decided to try buffing the product in and it seemed to work a lot better, but the finish was a little streaky. After working at it, I was able to get a good finish, but it was not as easy as I thought it would be. I then tried it with my Clinique Perfectly Real liquid foundation and it worked much better. I was able to both stipple and buff the product in and received the finish that I wanted…natural! It seems the brush works better for me with a thicker consistency…although it could be user error!

I plan on trying this brush with powder and crème blushes as I’ve heard they work great for those types of products as well. All in all, I’m happy with the brush, but I’m still on the quest to find the prefect foundation brush. I would definitely say pick this up for unbeatable price alone and the fact that it is a good brush overall.

Make sure to drop me a note if you have this brush letting me know how you use it and how you life it.

Get to know Jae

Hey there,
I'm back with yet another post today. After watching one of my favorite movies today, I thought I'd let you guys in on some of my favorite movies-of all time. Please understand these are all for entertainment, nothing deep about these movies.

Grease - I LOVE, LOVE. LOVE this movie. Its my favorite of all time and I watch it all the time. I love the songs and sing along, I even bought the soundtrack...my poor college friends had to listen to it ALL the time...sorry ladies! I even dance along to the Hand Jive...I know, someone is taking it a bit too far.

Love and Basketball - What is there not to love about this movie. I'm a big Omar Epps fan and the combination of he and Sanaa Lathan really works for me.

Brown Sugar - Such a great movie and another one staring Sanaa Lathan...I think I'm forming a partner here. I often post the question "when did you fall in love with hip-hop" on my Facebook page.

ATL - Yes, this made my list and I'm serious about it! If this movie is on, I'm watching it...its such a great movie to just chill and watch. I like that everyone got it together in the end and found their way. I just LOVE it!

What are some of your favorite movies?
That's about it from me for now...I'll be back with a move posts soon.

Happy Reading,
Jae
